It’s been a busy start to the long weekend for State Highway Patrol officers in Geelong.
A black Yamaha motorcycle was detected by police travelling 170km/h in a 100k/h zone on the Princes Freeway about 5.30pm yesterday.
A 19-year-old Truganina man has being charged on summons for dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, conduct endanger persons, speeding and other traffic matters.
In a separate incident police detected a Mazda sedan traveling more than 70kms over the speed limit on the Geelong Ring Road about 9pm on 8 March.
A 28-year-old man from Anglesea had his car impounded and has been charged on summons with speeding.
Also about 9pm a 24-year-old Leopold man was detected doing burnouts on Portarlington road.
His car was impounded and he has been charged on summons with driving carelessly involving an improper use – loss of traction.
Operation Arid will run from 12.01am on Friday 8 March until 11.50 Monday 11 March, 2019.
