Northern Territory Darwin Traffic Operations have seized a vehicle in relation to hooning offences in the early hours on Sunday morning.
Around 4:00am, police received reports of a Toyota Hilux conducting multiple burnouts throughout the Darwin CBD.
The vehicle was tracked by CCTV operators before being stopped during a traffic apprehension and seized by police under anti-hooning legislation.
The driver has been fined with multiple driving offences which will likely result in the loss of his licence.
Superintendent Paul Wood said “This behaviour is dangerous and completely reckless.
“If you think you will get away with hooning on our roads, think again.
“This dangerous behaviour could cost you not only a fine, but also your life or the life of those who share the roads with you.”
