- Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships Program awards more than $500,000 to 66 regional WA community organisations
- $150,000 Shooting Stars partnership renewed until 2026
- More than $3.5 million awarded to over 300 initiatives since 2020
The Cook Government, through Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships Program, is proud to award funding of $542,575 to 66 community organisations and events across regional and remote Western Australia.
Round 7 partnerships support initiatives in the regional energy provider’s service area the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid West, Goldfields and Esperance regions.
Recipients include major events such as Broome’s Shinju Matsuri, the Ord Valley Muster in Kununurra and Esperance’s Winter Wonderland, Christmas celebrations, as well as regional chambers of commerce and industry, Aboriginal organisations and volunteer emergency services.
A three-year, $150,000 sponsorship with Glass Jar Australia has been extended until 2026, supporting the Shooting Stars program which empowers Western Australian Aboriginal girls and young women on their education and employment journey.
Funding will also assist the State’s smaller towns and remote communities, such as the Irrunytju Community, near the Northern Territory border. The partnership will support Aboriginal youth attending a Youth Diversion Camp in Esperance.
Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships Program provides $1.1 million each financial year to regional community initiatives and events. Round 8 applications open late January 2024.
