South West Rocks residents and visitors will be pleased to know that the anticipated upgrade of the Horseshoe Bay carpark has been completed.
The much improved and safer carpark not only looks better, but has more parking spaces, space for trucks and trailers to turn around, additional seating and landscaping, and drainage works to protect the environment.
The community had previously identified that an upgrade to the parking area was needed, identifying safety and access issues, lack of kerb and guttering, no ability to manage stormwater runoff, and a poor design which often lead to chaotic traffic flow problems.
Horsehoe Bay is one of the jewels in the Macleay Valley’s crown and is hugely popular with visitors and locals alike. Kempsey Council is proud to show off this beautiful part of our shire with this safe, attractive and functional new parking area.
