With COVID-19 taking a significant toll on mental health globally, none have been more affected than our frontline healthcare workers.
In a new joint initiative between , and strategic partners, the hospital is pioneering a new mental health Arts program, transforming wings of the hospital into a dynamic rotating art gallery, supporting local artists and healthcare workers alike.
Titled ‘The Healing Hospital Arts Project – Creating Wellbeing Environments,’ the Hospital has filled the walls of the Mental Health Unit and the nearby Children’s Ward with curated local art. A total of 33 artworks from 6 local artists covering themes of community, imagination, and spring warmth have been featured, with works rotating every three months.
“These initiatives make a genuine impact and renews our focus on wellbeing, while also supporting local artists and the local community,” said Dr Claire Jones, Director, Mental Health.
