A hotel valet has been charged with low-range PCA after he crashed a car while on duty.
About 11:30 (Friday 28 December 2018) officers on patrol came across an unoccupied and damaged white BMW that had mounted the footpath on Darling Drive, Pyrmont.
Following inquiries, officers from Sydney City Police Area Command found the driver inside a hotel at the same location.
Police were told the car was being moved by the hotel’s valet to a nearby carpark when he swerved to avoid a collision with another car, mounted the footpath and crashed into a pole.
The car was significantly damaged; however, no-one was injured.
The valet, a 53-year-old Hillsdale man, was arrested for the purpose of a breath analysis and was taken to Sydney City Police Station where he recorded a reading of 0.071.
He was charged with drive with low-range PCA and negligent driving.
He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice to attend the Downing Centre Local Court. The date has yet to be set.
