How we’re helping our NSW, SA and VIC customers after recent severe weather
Across our brands, IAG’s teams are on the ground supporting customers impacted by the Coffs Harbour and Adelaide hailstorms and strong winds in Victoria.
Our dedicated Major Event team is in place all year round to ensure we are as well prepared to support our customers when severe weather occurs and the team remains all-hands-on-deck as they continue to support our customers impacted by the recent strong winds, storms and hailstorms in South Australia (SA) and Victoria (VIC).
As of Friday 29 October, IAG had received more than 5,500 claims from the SA hailstorm, mostly from the areas of Greenwich, Salisbury Heights and Paralowie. Following severe winds in VIC, 1,100 claims were received, mostly from the areas of Sunbury, Frankston and Craigieburn.
Our national footprint means we have been able to respond quickly to the severe weather and ensure our customers can get back on their feet as quickly as possible.

IAG Executive General Manager Claims
IAG Executive General Manager Claims, Luke Gallagher, said: “Our claim teams and network of repairers across our brands including NRMA Insurance, SGIC, CGU and WFI are out on the ground ensuring our customers’ properties are safe and secure and will assess property damage, so repairs can begin as soon as possible.
“We urge our customers to please continue to take every safety precaution as they inspect any damage. Safety is the number-one priority, particularly if further severe weather is forecast.
“Our national footprint means we have been able to respond quickly to the severe weather and ensure our customers can get back on their feet as quickly as possible,” Mr Gallagher said.
Next week IAG will open dedicated hail repair centres in Adelaide where we will have both assessors and specialist repairers on-site to assess hail damaged vehicles. This allows us to determine the best method of repair so we can get the claims process moving as soon as possible
Coffs Harbour hailstorm
Several storms and hailstorms recently impacted parts of Coffs Harbour on the NSW North Coast in October.
Our teams are focused on helping customers with their claims, queries and any immediate support they need. Our assessors, builders and vehicle repairers are on the ground assessing and repairing our customers’ homes and vehicles, installing emergency MakeSafe tarping and supporting with other measures needed to make sure their properties are safe.
NRMA Insurance customers can visit our NRMA Insurance agency in Coffs Harbour for face-to-face claims support.
