Leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised International Data Corporation (IDC) on its acquisition of ETBS, an IT benchmarking and assessment firm based in Australia that offers extensive price, service and cost data in over 45 countries.
US-headquartered IDC is the premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services and events for the information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology markets.
IDC’s acquisition of ETBS adds a highly regarded benchmarking methodology into its already established and growing IT metrics product portfolio.
“We were delighted to be able to assist IDC on this strategically important transaction,” said Tokyo partner Joseph Fisher. “This is just the latest example of the Herbert Smith Freehills network’s ability to provide seamless global support to multinational clients on complex cross-border deals, especially in the technology and data sectors.”
Joseph co-led the team advising IDC from Tokyo with Stephen McCann, assisted by Ryu Long, and with support from Damien Roberts and Tatsuaki Tomiyama in Sydney.
