Human remains located at Goulburn last month have been forensically identified as those of Samah Baker.
About 9am on Friday 28 July 2023, a woman located the remains in grassland off the Hume Highway, approximately 100-metres south of the Windellama Road overpass.
Police were contacted and officers from The Hume Police District attended and established a crime scene.
The items were seized and the scene was forensically examined; specialist officers including Police Rescue and the Public Order and Riot Squad conducted extensive further searches of the area.
Further remains were located and seized.
The Hume PD detectives worked closely with the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad to determine the identity of the remains.
Following the examination and analysis by NSW Health Pathology, the remains have been confirmed as belonging to 30-year-old Samah Baker.
Police will continue to liaise with the NSW Coroner.
