Major events are back this weekend as Hume City comes alive with a variety of activities and excitement for all ages.

Whether it be enjoying the carnival atmosphere of Craigieburn Festival, keeping our community clean at Clean Up Australia Day, or enjoying an outdoor event across Hume there really is something for everyone.

Craigieburn Festival

A local favourite for over 25+ years, Craigieburn Festival is back from 12pm — 9pm at Craigieburn ANZAC Park. A jam-packed day of activities includes:

  • Live music performances all day with an evening set headlined by ARIA nominated Timomatic

  • 20+ food and drink trucks

  • 10+ carnival rides with all rides prices at $5 before 5pm

  • Family friendly activities including Circus Lab workshops, face painting, reptile show, giant bubble performance and BMX stunt show

  • Council services marquees including best dressed dog competition

  • Market and community stalls

  • Fireworks finale display and so much more

A bumper crowd is expected with up to 15,000 locals and visitors attending the event on what will be a warm and sunny day, so guests are encouraged to wear a hat, sunscreen and stay hydrated with the free drinking water taps provided.

Clean Up Australia Day

We are so excited to launch our Keep Hume Clean initiative this Sunday 5 March for Clean Up Australia Day.

There are so many ways to get involved, including:

  • Joining a already happening in your local area

  • Host your own Clean Up

  • Come along for a at Broadmeadows Town Hall from 11.30am.

Hume City Mayor, Cr Joseph Haweil will share our plans for tackling waste in Hume and offer his thanks for helping up to Keep Hume Clean.

We will also be launching our waste mascot and announcing the winner of our mascot naming competition.

There’ll be show bags, free sausages and door prizes. We’ll see you there!

Hume Clean Day

Need to get rid of a mattress, whitegoods, e-waste, tyres or an old couch?

You can drop them off for free at our Resource Recovery Centres in Sunbury and Campbellfield this Saturday 4 March for Hume Clean Day.

We offer four per year, on the first Saturday of every season (March, June, September & December).

Craigieburn Art Show

Join us this Friday 3 March for the official opening of the 32nd Annual Craigieburn Art Show at the from 7pm.

Displaying a selection of artwork in a variety of mediums from talented local artists, the exhibition will have something for everyone to enjoy, and even purchase with most of the items available for purchase.

Running throughout the weekend, you can stop in and have a look during your time at Craigieburn Festival.

Sunbury Aboriginal Corporation Community Open Day

The Sunbury Aboriginal Corporation exists to create a welcoming, culturally safe environment for First Nations community to participate in workshops, programs, groups, and to seek assistance.

The group has relocated to the Old Sunbury Courthouse and would like to celebrate this occasion on their 6th birthday. Join the community open day for:

  • Official opening by Mayor Joseph Haweil

  • Welcome to Country

  • Smoking Ceremony

  • Flag Raising

  • Aboriginal Performance

  • Light lunch

Charlie Grech Reserve

Looking for something a bit quieter this weekend?

Come down to Greenvale this Saturday 4 March for the official opening of Charlie Grech Reserve, 53 Normanby Drive Greenvale, at 3pm.

Afternoon tea and refreshments will be available so you can have a snack and kick back.
