IAG ready to support customers impacted by the Perth bushfire
IAG, whose brands include NRMA Insurance, CGU and WFI is supporting customers impacted by the ongoing bushfire north of Perth.
We urge local residents who are currently in the impacted areas to make safety their number one priority, listen to the advice of the state’s emergency authorities, and call 000 in an emergency.
Customers whose properties have been damaged should contact their insurer to receive immediate support, including temporary accommodation and financial assistance.
There are currently emergency warnings in place for the suburbs of Jandabup, Melaleuca, Wanneroo and Mariginiup. An evacuation centre has been established in the Gumblossom Community Centre at Quinns Rocks and the Western Australia Government has also set up additional temporary accommodation at the Bullsbrook Quarantine Facility.
More than 500 Department of Fire and Emergency Services staff and volunteers from multiple agencies are responding to the bushfire, including aerial firefighting support.
IAG has so far received 13 claims due to the bushfire. The majority of damage has been to properties as well as outdoor furnishings, sheds and gazebos.
First and foremost, safety must be the priority for anyone impacted by this fast moving and devastating bushfire. Our dedicated Major Events Response Team is providing support to those customers who have unfortunately been affected by the bushfire.
