Destination Kiama has announced the IGNITE Kiama Winter Festival will take place from 28 May to 5 June 2022.
Showcasing Kiama Harbour’s foreshore and celebrating winter, IGNITE Kiama Winter Festival 2022 will be anchored in 3 key pillars:
- food
- arts
- culture.
A fire-themed outdoor event will champion the contrast of fire and ice through themed entertainment and performances.
It will include:
- an authentic 19 x 15 metre ice skating rink open to the public for day and twilight skating
- performances by a Professional Olympic Ice Skater and stunt skaters
- a bespoke VIP long table dining experience with renowned chef
- Welcome to Country and Dance performances
- themed eat street
- workshops including an aerial rig and circus apparatus for children to perform their own tricks.
- live music and entertainment including roving fire twirlers and drummers
- virtual experiences such as behind-the-scenes videos featuring back stories of performers and interviews with the stars.
- light show and fireworks.
Destination Kiama’s IGNITE festival aims to bring the community together and stimulate the visitor economy in a traditionally off-peak period.
IGNITE is make possible through funding from the NSW Government’s Regional Events Acceleration Fund.
