Fashion design will be one of the many career paths on display at the IGNITE Youth Careers Expo later this month.

An expo in the City of Logan will help spark the career aspirations of young job-seekers and students.

The IGNITE Youth Careers Expo returns to the Logan Entertainment Centre on Tuesday July 18. Entry is free.

Young residents will have the chance to explore a range of different professions and gain insight into the study paths, apprenticeships, and job opportunities available.

A selection of Queensland universities, apprentice training groups, and industry associations will be among the 49 different exhibitors set to attend IGNITE.

Lifestyle Chair Councillor Tony Hall said he hoped IGNITE would spark the imaginations of Logan’s school-leavers and young job-seekers.

“There’s a chance to explore a range of career paths at the IGNITE Youth Careers Expo,” Cr Hall said.

“Whether you’re a local school student, a recent school leaver or a young graduate, IGNITE is a great opportunity to explore the career opportunities on offer.”

The expo will also feature three zones – creative, beauty and cookery – where attendees can get involved with hands-on activities including podcasting, coffee making and fashion designing.

Division 2 Councillor Teresa Lane said she looked forward to welcoming students and graduates from across the city to the free event.

“Employment pathways are different for everyone which is why IGNITE is fantastic at highlighting the many career and study options available to students and job-seekers,” Cr Lane said.

“I am excited to see the Logan Entertainment Centre brimming with career inspiration later this month.”

The IGNITE Youth Careers Expo is on Tuesday July 18 at the Logan Entertainment Centre, 170 Wembley Rd, Logan Central.
