Essential maintenance and improvement initiatives carried out at Griffith Regional Airport in early February 2024, has resulted in significant enhancements to its infrastructure.
This project involved critical pavement resurfacing, encompassing the comprehensive spray-sealing of the runway, taxiway and air transport apron.
Bruce Gibbs, Council’s Director of Sustainable Development, emphasised the positive impact of this work on the overall safety of the airport’s runway.
“The completed project ensures a safer operational environment for both incoming and outgoing flights,” he said.
“I’d like to thank residents for their patience and understanding while the Airport was temporarily closed.”
This project was made possible through grant funding from the Australian Government.
