The Andrews Labor Government is adding more services to some of the most popular routes across the east and south east, giving bus passengers more choice about when travel to universities, shops and other amenities.
Route 733 Box Hill to Oakleigh via Monash University and Route 767 Box Hill to Southland via Deakin University will have their frequencies increased during off-peak periods on weekdays.
The upgrades will see services run every 15 minutes on Route 733 in the section between Box Hill to Monash University. Sunday services will also be upgraded to every 40 minutes for the entirety of the route to meet demand. On Route 767, services during the day on weekdays will be upgraded to every 20 minutes.
Across both routes, passengers will have better access to key destinations including Southland Shopping Centre, Chadstone, Monash University and Deakin University.
The additional services are all part of Victoria’s Bus Plan, which is delivering important improvements to the state’s bus network to better meet demand, increase accessibility and performance, and deliver value for money.
The upgrades will also help prepare for demand when the Suburban Rail Loop opens, with both routes operating via future stations including Cheltenham, Clayton, Monash Burwood and Box Hill.
Community consultation is currently underway for further upgrades to services around Deakin University’s Burwood Campus to improve connections to Box Hill, with feedback to help shape the future bus network.
To have your say on the changes, complete an online survey at, visit ptv.vic.gov.au/boxhilltoburwood. The survey closes on Sunday 30 October 2022, while service upgrades will be implemented in 2023.
