The Victorian Government is making it easier and safer for locals to cross the intersection of Green Gully and Arundel Roads, with a new signalised pedestrian crossing improving access to the nearby Keilor Village.
A new walking path along the median strip and raised platforms will also assist residents in safely using the crossing and accessing local amenities.
These works will support the recent upgrade of the intersection where Green Gully Road and Arundel Road enter the Calder Freeway inbound, which is helping drivers navigate the intersection easier.
Motorists are already benefitting from new traffic signals, as well as signage, lighting and surface improvements.
As part of the $2 million intersection upgrade, the new pedestrian operated signals will ensure the safe movement across the busy entry ramp to the Calder Freeway.
Crews will be on site Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm, with reduced speed limits in place and traffic management on site to make it safe for workers and motorists.
The Victorian Government, in partnership with the Transport Accident Commission, is investing $1.4 billion into road safety infrastructure, to reduce road trauma and save lives.
Works are underway and will be completed in June 2022, weather permitting.
