The Victorian Government is improving the Raymond Island Public Jetty for charter operators, boaters, fishers and visitors to enjoy.
The jetty will be rebuilt as part of an $18 million package for piers and jetties across Victoria from the Victorian Budget 2022-23.
The investment will mean critical works can be carried out on the jetty to improve berthing for recreational boaters and access for anglers and pedestrians.
It also means the jetty – which is located on the McMillian Strait – will be larger and safer and provide better access for short-stay vessels in peak periods.
The Victorian Government will work closely with Gippsland Ports, the local port manager, and other stakeholders to progress project planning at the site.
Rebuilding and safety works will also be undertaken to piers and jetties at Lakes Entrance, McLoughlins Beach, Mornington, Sorrento, Portsea, Hampton, Rye, Flinders and Williamstown.
