Caravan Industry Victoria (CIV) is the peak body for the Victorian Caravan Industry, it has been established for over 68 years and currently represents over 270 caravan and RV brands, hundreds of models, large number of suppliers, retailers and service providers. It was critical for the Association and industry to adapt to the significant challenges that 2020 has delivered to ensure the future of a $2.3 billion industry in Victoria.

“In the last six months, the world has changed. And the way we see the world has changed too. This show concept is a reflection of that change and we are pleased our members and industry customers supported the Association in being innovative.” Said Michael Pebbles, President, Caravan Industry Victoria.

The Victorian Caravan and Camping Virtual show ran from the 30th of September to the 4th of October and was open 24 hours a day, customers could chat directly with the exhibitor representatives, people did go in large numbers to the Thetford Auditorium where for the entire virtual show there was online seminars, presentations, products launched, travel destination promotions, safe towing tips, technical workshops and much more.

“Being the first caravan and camping virtual show in Australia and most likely the first in the world we are delighted with the results and the feedback from the customers and exhibitors we have already been asked when we will run another virtual show. What was pleasantly surprising was the number of sales through the virtual show and people even bought caravans” said Rob Lucas, Chief Executive, Caravan Industry Victoria

“We found the Virtual Show to be productive and beneficial to our sales yard Escape RV’s and the brands associated with it – Masterpiece Caravans, Vacationer Caravans, Urban Caravans and Silver Valley Caravans. We sold 5 caravans as a direct result of the virtual show and this was an exceptional result. Said Bobi Petrusevski, General Manager, Masterpiece Caravans.

Caravan Industry Victoria want to thank those that attended and we hoped you enjoyed the show from the comfort of our own home. A big thank you to our Major Partner RV Online and our other partners Finance Partner Stratton Finance, Auditorium Partner Thetford, Tourium Partners Visit Bendigo and Visit the Murray, Lounge Partner Everything Caravan and Camping and our Hall Partners AL-KO, G&S Chassis, Big4, Xbar, and BMPRO.

With the overwhelming success of the inaugural Victorian Caravan and Camping Virtual show Caravan Industry Victoria will now consider if they will conduct more in 2021.
