Police are investigating a stabbing incident at an Elizabeth Park school this morning.
About 9am on Friday 25 August, police and SA ambulance were called to a Yorktown Road school after reports a student had been stabbed by another student at the school.
The victim sustained superficial cuts to her torso. She was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital for treatment however her injuries are not considered life threatening.
Northern District police quickly attended and detained the suspect. The knife has been seized.
The school was placed in lockdown for a short time while police investigated the incident.
The situation has been contained and police would like to stress that there is no further risk to any other student at the school.
