Last month, we installed three, temporary and accessible gender-neutral changerooms in readiness for the upcoming soccer season and other sporting activities.
Yarra City Council Mayor Edward Crossland says it’s he’s proud to lead a Council with such a deep commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
“At Yarra, we want everyone to feel welcome and to be able to take part in community sport.”
“That’s why we’ve installed three temporary, accessible, gender-neutral changerooms to Yambla Pavilion to meet current demand, ahead of further upgrades in the future,” he said.
“Community sport is a fantastic way to make local connections, foster friendships and maintain health and wellbeing,” he said.
“We want to make it easier for our everyone in our community to have a go and get involved,” he said.
As part of the Yambla Pavilion upgrades, Yarra City Council is also proposing:
- A new sporting pavilion
- 4 x permanent unisex change rooms
- a new kiosk
- club storage
- socialise space
- new public toilets
We’re upgrading the Yambla Pavilion in Clifton Hill to provide an inclusive and accessible community sporting facility, improved amenities and better public access to Quarries Park.
