Lismore City Council is hosting an information session for those considering running as a candidate for the September Local Government elections.
The session will be held on Wednesday, 31 July at 5.30pm in the Council Chambers, with bookings essential.
Council’s General Manager Jon Gibbons encouraged those thinking about standing at the election to attend the information session, which will be delivered by an independent presenter from Local Government NSW (LGNSW).
“This is an opportunity to find out the role and responsibilities of Councillors so that you are fully informed and ready to hit the ground running if elected in September,” he said.
The session will cover:
- Standing for Election
- The Role of Councils and Councillors
- Leadership and Professional Development
- Next Steps for Candidates
There will also be some information specific to Lismore around time commitments and dates.
People who register are welcome to attend the session either in person or online via Microsoft Teams. To book, please call Council on 6625 0500.
