Cardinia Shire Council will be hosting two information sessions to assist local community groups to prepare their applications for the 2020–21 Community Capital Works Grants.
Council’s Community Capital Works Grants deliver up to $35,000 in matched funding for building works and $20,000 for major equipment purchases to assist community groups to improve community and recreational facilities in Cardinia Shire.
Community groups that are considering applying for a Community Capital Works Grant when applications open in January 2020 are encouraged to attend one of the sessions being held at the Cardinia Shire Council Civic Centre, 20 Siding Avenue, Officer.
- Evening session: Tuesday 29 October 2019, 7pm
- Morning session: Thursday 31 October 2019, 10am
The sessions will provide information on grant eligibility, grant conditions, processes and timelines, and provide applicants an opportunity to discuss their project ideas and specific requirements with Council staff.

Suitable capital works projects may include:
- building extensions and refurbishments
- improved access for all abilities
- energy efficiency upgrades.
Past projects have included upgraded play spaces, refurbished bathrooms and kitchens, new air-conditioning, built-in storage, shed construction, and installation of water tanks and solar power.
