Information sought over 2017 suspicious death, NSW

Police have released CCTV vision and are appealing for information following the suspicious death of a man at Potts Point in 2017.

About 11.30am on Sunday 7 May 2017, emergency services were called to a hotel room on Springfield Ave at Potts Point, after reports a of a drug overdose.

Paramedics attended and found a 33-year-old man who was unable to be revived.

A post mortem examination determined the man died as a result of a drug overdose.

Strike Force Buckle, comprising detectives from Kings Cross Police Area Command, was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which is being treated as suspicious.

Inquires to date reveal the man is believed to have died sometime between 4.30am and 7.30am with a number of people visiting the room during that time.

Investigators have now released CCTV vision of two men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, thin build, short shaved hair, and smoking a cigarette.

He is shown wearing a grey singlet, dark-coloured pants, sneakers with orange laces, and holding a dark coloured jacket.

The second man depicted is described as being of South American appearance, medium build, short black hair, and black facial hair.

He is shown wearing a black jacket, white shorts with two dark stripes on the side, and white sneakers.

Investigations under Strike Force Buckle are continuing, and detectives are appealing for information from the public to assist with their inquiries into the incident.
