The latest design phase includes the presentation of updated project images and visualisations and invites the community to provide valuable feedback.
Inland Rail is a nation building project that will transform how goods are moved around Australia. In Victoria, works will be undertaken at 12 sites, including Benalla, to enable double-stacked freight trains to pass safely and ensure everyday products can be delivered faster and more reliably around Australia.
The Benalla Station Precinct project will create a wider, brighter, and shorter pedestrian underpass, realign the rail tracks, and deliver a new second platform.
With new lifts, ramps and stairs, a network of pedestrian pathways and upgraded bus and car parking, the project will improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity across the station precinct.
In addition to updated visualisations, the community will also be engaged on the Benalla Station Precinct Concept Plan showing site layout plans, sections and elevations, site boundaries, and landscaping. The Concept Plan is required to be approved by the Minister for Planning.
Between 31 July and 28 August, information sessions will be held with construction experts and provide opportunities for the community to have their questions answered.
Feedback and key themes gathered will shape the next phase of the design process and be incorporated into the response to the Benalla Concept Plan for approval by the Minister for Planning.
From 31 July, the community can share feedback and information by:
- Dropping into the ARTC shopfront at 53 Carrier Street, Benalla
- Attending an ARTC event between 31 July and 28 August
- Providing a written submission on the Concept Plan by 28 August
