Police have commenced an investigation after a pet deer was reported missing from a property in the state’s south.
About 7am today (Monday 7 August 2023), a 31-year-old woman contacted Albury Police Station after noticing her pet deer, named Rudie, was missing from her paddock in Wirlinga.
Rudie, who has three legs, was last seen about 6pm yesterday (Sunday 6 August 2023).
Officers from Murray River Police District attended and commenced inquiries.
During a search of the area, blood was located in the paddock.
Following initial inquiries, police believe a car was driven to the property about 11.30pm to 11.45pm yesterday.
As inquiries continue, police urge anyone with information to come forward.
