An investigation is underway after a man was seriously injured after a crash in Sydney’s south west overnight.
About 11.25pm (Thursday 13 September 2024), emergency services were called to Fairfield Street, Fairfield East, after reports of a two-vehicle crash.
A driver, a 44-year-old man was trapped before being was freed by Fire & Rescue NSW.
He was treated by Ambulance paramedics and before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
The other driver, an 18-year-old man, was uninjured. He was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a negative result.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene, and an investigation is underway with assistance of specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Traffic is impacted and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
