The atmosphere was alive and buzzing as the new Baker Drive playground in Crescent Head was officially opened to the public last week.
Kempsey Shire Council staff were joined by the enthusiastic families of Crescent Head Playgroup to celebrate the exciting modern park on Wednesday morning.
The happy children explored their new park, taking their confidence to new heights on the climbing cube as they tested out all the new equipment for the first time. Crescent Head FoodWorks kindly provided healthy fruit platters for the children for an after-play snack.
The new play equipment will inspire children for years to come, encouraging creative learning through play, problem solving skills and making unique opportunities for social interaction.
Families have been waiting patiently for this new play space with continual wet weather and supply chain issues halting installation after the previous ageing equipment reached its use-by date in December 2021 and was decommissioned.
This project was funded through Council’s 2021-2022 capital works program and is another example of Council’s commitment to a vision that “our people are given the opportunities and infrastructure to build a safe, welcoming and sustainable community.”
