Jacinta Allan’s triple-zero crisis worsens

Liberal Party Victoria

The mismanagement of Victoria’s emergency call service continues to worsen under Premier Jacinta Allan.

Triple-zero whistleblowers have revealed as few as four call takers have been rostered on at times to cover the entire state, as some emergency calls for assistance have gone unanswered for more than a minute.

This continued poor performance comes more than a year after the found more than 30 deaths had been linked to triple-zero delays.

Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier, said: “Under Labor, Victoria is broke and Victorians continue to suffer while waiting for an ambulance that isn’t available, or never arrives.

“The crisis within Victoria’s health system and ambulance services has been years in the making but it appears the same underinvestment and lack of staffing continues to plague the system.”

Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Richard Riordan, said: “A new logo and name won’t fix the systemic problems with Victoria’s emergency call centre under the Allan Government.

“With the busy holiday period upon us, Victorians need more than a handful of call-takers on duty and the Allan Government must take immediate action to improve staffing levels.”
