The CLP Government’s December-January school holiday program has been released, ensuring a fun-filled few weeks for Territory youth.
Activities and events will take place across all regions, including Central Australia and Alice Springs, Greater Darwin including Palmerston, East Arnhem, Big Rivers and Katherine, and the Barkly and Tennant Creek from this Thursday 12 December 2024 to Tuesday 28 January 2025.
Minister for Youth, Seniors and Equality Jinson Charls said the calendar of events offered a diverse mix of activities, many of which were free to attend.
“From basketball and bike workshops in Alice Springs to roller skating sessions and golf camps in Katherine, and DJ and dance demonstrations in the Greater Darwin region, there is something for everyone,” said Mr Charls.
The CLP Government is providing more than $130,000 to over 30 local youth, sports and community organisations across the Territory to deliver these activities through the 2024-25 Youth Vibe Holiday Grants.
“The December-January holidays are the longest school break all year and we know it can be challenging for parents and carers to keep kids busy and entertained for such a lengthy period,” said Mr Charls.
“With the Wet season underway in the north, and the weather heating up in the south, we’ve also ensured lots of indoor activities are included to avoid putting a dampener on any plans.”
Some activities require advance booking, so check online and secure your spot and while most activities are free, some may incur a small cost.
