Wednesday, 28 February 2024: Jetstar has confirmed a start date of 1 September 2024 for its new flights between Adelaide and Whitsunday Coast Airport, with one-way sale fares available today from just $99 at jetstar.com.
Three flights a week will take off on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, creating more than 58,000 low-cost seats a year, and significantly boosting local tourism across both destinations.
To celebrate the new service, Jetstar has launched a 12-hour sale from 11:00am AEDT Wednesday 28 February 2024, offering one-way fares between Adelaide and the Whitsundays from just $99^.
Jetstar’s Executive Manager, Customer, Jenn Armor, said Adelaide to Whitsundays will become the low-cost carrier’s 99th domestic route in Australia.
“We’re incredibly excited to launch these new direct flights between Adelaide and Whitsundays, allowing our customers to take off more with sale fares available today from just $99 one way.
“For the first time ever from 1 September 2024, flying between these two destinations will take just under three hours, continuing Jetstar’s mission to make travel more accessible with great low fares.”
Whitsunday Coast Airport boss, Craig Turner, said today marks an exciting milestone for Whitsunday Coast Airport with direct flights from Adelaide to our stunning region now on sale.
“This new route not only strengthens connections between South Australia and the Whitsundays, but also opens up endless possibilities for travellers seeking adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences.
“South Australians can tick off bucket list items like snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef or visiting the worlds famous Whitehaven Beach while Whitsunday locals can visit SA and sample some of the world’s best wines or explore unique wildlife sanctuary Kangaroo Island.”
Adelaide Airport Managing Director, Brenton Cox, said the launch fares were sure to attract interest from holidaymakers.
“South Australians should jump on board these launch fares to experience the wonder of the Whitsundays and more Queenslanders can now access the wildlife, outback and wineries on Adelaide’s doorstep,”
