Digging started this week on an exciting streetscape upgrade for Jetty Road Largs Bay, with the work scheduled for completion by November, ready for the summer.
The existing road and footpaths along this section of Jetty Road have reached the end of their useful life and will be reconstructed along with a streetscape upgrade as part of works being undertaken by the City of PAE and local Largs Bay contractor LCS Landscapes.
This follows the completion of work by SA Power Networks to put power lines underground and install new light poles, co-funded by the City of PAE. Now we are taking the opportunity to improve the amenity of the area with streetscape upgrade which we consulted on last year.
We will be widening footpath, planting plenty of new trees, landscaping. This will create the opportunity for local businesses to have more outdoor dining on a more pedestrian-friendly street. To finish, there will be new artwork installed along the street. We will also be upgrading pedestrian crossings at the intersection of the Esplanade and Jetty Rd, reconfiguring the carpark near Largs Bay Kiosk to add more parking spaces, and installing a Hybrid Electric Vehicle charging station.
