The City of PAE is working with SA Power Networks to underground power along the western section of Jetty Road, Largs Bay between the Esplanade and Military Road. The undergrounding works by SA Power Networks is currently underway and is expected to be completed by December 2019.
This is a great opportunity for the council to undertake a streetscape upgrade of this historically significant road. Our placemaking, engineering and heritage staff have been working with a group of local residents to develop a concept plan which will move into construction in the 2020/21 financial year. This concept includes improved road layout, parking, landscaping, lighting, outdoor dining opportunities, wider footpaths, renewal of the road pavement and the creation of both permanent and temporary public artworks that reflect the area and highlight the history.
