John Setka Congratulates Rebecca Casson

CFMEU Vic/Tas Branch

STATEMENT – CFMEU VIC TAS Executive.

John Setka, CFMEU Secretary (Vic.) says, “Rebecca Casson’s appointment to the position of INCOLINK President will introduce an outstanding expansion of leadership for the manager of worker entitlements for the building and construction industry.

“Rebecca’s departure from the Master Builders Victoria (MBV), while a loss to MBV and their members, I’m confident she’ll maintain her advocacy for a strong, forward thinking environment of development for the construction industry overall.

“I have a lot of respect for Rebecca – she is a highly skilled visionary on all aspects of construction operations. And, as President, her balanced leadership, and people skills, including her beliefs in diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a wealth of industry knowledge, will be of significant benefit for INCOLINK members.

“During COVID-19, Rebecca worked tirelessly with the state government and industry bodies to ensure the safety of MBV members and to keep them building.

“Rebecca was instrumental for construction organisations to work together for the betterment of both the builders and construction workers – and our collective efforts ensured the industry, unlike many others – was able to continue to operate with safety, keeping builders and construction workers in jobs.

“I wish Rebecca Casson, inductee 2021 Victorian Honour Roll of Women, every success in her new role and I look forward to an ongoing working relationship.”
