Kempsey Shire Council sees education as a key process in the development and growth of its residents, particularly youth. In order to aid this development, and support students in their university studies and career goals, we are offering a Charles Sturt University scholarship to a student from the Kempsey Shire..
The scholarships provide financial assistance to local commencing or continuing students allowing them the freedom to concentrate on their study without worrying about associated costs such as accommodation, text books, additional tutoring or other resources.
The scholarship is available to commencing or continuing students, studying online, at the Port Macquarie campus, or in mixed mode (online and on campus), in any year and in any course.
To be eligible, students must:
- have completed Years 11 and 12 at a high school in the LGA and their parents must also reside within the LGA
Students should demonstrate a broad level of community engagement and are requested to attach evidence to their application of their community/regional involvement through a detailed explanation, letter of reference or certificate.
Preference may be given to students whose career paths may have positive benefits to the Kempsey Shire Council.
The scholarship offers an opportunity to undertake course-based work placement with Kempsey Shire Council. Subject to availability.
NOTE:
Scholarship value of $5,000 will be paid in 2 instalments of $2,500. 2nd instalment payment pending ongoing enrolment and satisfactory GPA (4.0 and above) is maintained.
