Keynote announced for NSW Women in Life Sciences Luncheon

Nirelle Tolsoshev, Managing Director for women’s health company Organon ANZ, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Women in Life Sciences Luncheon in Syndey on 11 March 2022. Organon is the largest biopharmaceutical company dedicated to women’s health globally, and will share her experiences and insights into ‘amplifying her voice’.

Starting her career in cancer research, Ms Tolsoshev has since held commercial roles across most therapeutic areas in the pharmaceutical industry. She holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Gene Therapy, an MBA, and also completed the Company Directors course through the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2021.

The Women in Life Sciences Luncheon 2022 will focus on ‘amplifying her voice’. Whether it’s in healthcare, politics, workplaces, relationships, boardrooms or life sciences, the voice of women is gaining significant traction. Since the last Women’s Luncheon, when the ‘Me Too’ movement had acted as a global lightning rod for women’s inequality, the past year has seen a reckoning for Australian women and the voice of many, thankfully, come to fore.

Ms Tolsoshev will be joined by a panel of leaders to discuss the importance of ‘voice’ and how we can amplify that of women in Australian life sciences.

The annual Women in Life Sciences Luncheon is timed to celebrate International Women’s Day, on 8 March, and brings together up to 550 leaders and future leaders. It is focused on connecting the community to encourage, support, and further develop women in the life sciences sector in order to achieve a more equal standing in the biotech, pharma and medtech workplace.

Become a Big Sister

Make a commitment: The successful ‘Big Sisters’ programme will again invite women advanced in their careers in the sector to sponsor a student to attend the event and facilitate their networking during the Luncheon. Up to 30 women students will be sponsored to attend the event and receive a one-year membership of AusBiotech.

Sponsorship of a sister is for the Luncheon only, and a practical and tangible way that leaders in the life sciences can provide support and encouragement to a woman in early stages of her career in life sciences. Sponsors will be recognised at the event and the sponsored sister seated at the same table. To include this sponsorship please select the checkbox during the registration process.

AusBiotech values their partnership with Medicine Australia, and the opportunity to demonstrate change in action around policies of equality and inclusion.
