Applications are now open for Moira Shire Council’s Community Strengthening Grants Program, with grants of up to $10,000 on offer.
Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM emphasised that the Community Strengthening Grants Program is designed to fund projects or initiatives that fall within the following streams: arts and culture; community events; equipment; environmental sustainability; health promotion; tourism; and small, low risk capital projects.
“Our Community Strengthening Grants are an essential part of Council’s grants program and provide an excellent opportunity for community groups to launch new initiatives or projects that they would not otherwise be able to do,” said Dr Emonson.
“These grants, which offer up to $10,000, can support projects that enhance the community and contribute to the development of services, the management of facilities, the organisation of events, and the promotion of health or environmental sustainability.”
“In the past, we have seen these funds used for a variety of purposes, from arts and culture projects, such as workshops, exhibitions, and public art installations, to health promotion activities that encourage active, healthy lifestyles, and education initiatives.”
