Kidnapping and robbery with violence charges at Morayfield

Police have charged four people with serious offences following an investigation into an alleged violent assault where a man was held against his will and his vehicle allegedly stolen from Morayfield on June 17.

Caboolture detectives will allege at approximately 10pm a 21-year-old man was assaulted after agreeing to drive three men and a woman to a Morayfield address.

Police will further allege that shortly after arriving, the 21-year-old man was assaulted multiple times, threatened with a knife and forced into his vehicle by the group.

It will be further alleged the victim continued to be physically assaulted and held against his will by the group while they drove the vehicle to several locations from Caboolture to Tara. It will be further alleged the man was driven to an automatic teller machine where he was made to withdraw money from his bank account.

At approximately 10.30am on June 18, the man was located in Tara on the side of the road by a member of the public and was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening facial injuries.

Following investigations, the stolen Toyota Camry Sedan was recovered at Southport on June 19.

A 39-year-old Brisbane man, 29-year-old man, 38-year-old man and 21-year-old Brisbane woman were charged with four counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count each of robbery, kidnapping for ransom and torture.

The 39-year-old man is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 11, the 38-year-old man is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on July 19, the 29-year-old man is due to appear at Dalby Magistrates Court on July 26 and the 21-year-old woman is due to appear at Dalby Magistrates Court on August 2.

All involved were known to each other.
