The Kilgariff Estate in Alice Springs has now reached its second stage of development.
The Land Development Corporation have today been announced as the developers of Kilgariff Estate Stage 2, which will provide over 80 new residential lots with the first release being at least 50 lots, providing land availability and extending building opportunities for the Alice Springs community.
Around 200 local Territory jobs will be generated from the subdivision construction and house building activity during development of Stage 2.
Kilgariff Estate is located nine kilometres south of the Alice Springs CBD and provides affordable land for future residents, including first home buyers.
The Territory Labor Government has allocated $4.1 million towards the development of Kilgariff Estate Stage 2, to ensure an ongoing supply of affordable land in the Alice Springs market.
LDC is working with local architects, town planners and builders to provide a variety of housing options to ensure ongoing, affordable housing choices. This will include over 80 single and multiple dwelling lots, and public open space.
Lots will be available for purchase off the plan from September 2020 with every effort being made to improve affordability for new residents. Land price information will be released in mid-2020 as planning and design work is progressed. Construction of subdivision works will commence in early 2021.
In 2018, Kilgariff Estate welcomed the opening of the new Ruffino Park within Stage 1 as a central meeting place for residents. Stage 1 lots have been popular with sale contracts being finalised for the last remaining lots. Local builders will be kept busy constructing new homes, with 16 lots in the estate remaining to be developed.
