The good news is they are now open on Sundays again, giving you more time to enjoy them.

it’s time to return yourself to the library or if you’re a newbie sign up and discover what’s on offer.

We have a busy events schedule lined up for children and adults this year.

The popular Baby Rhyme Time, Toddler Time and Storytime sessions will return weekly, giving more people an opportunity to introduce literacy to their children from an early age.

The library is also a great resource for students of all ages – from take-home readers for Preps all the way through to online resources for those studying in the senior years of secondary school.

At our wonderful Bayside Gallery you have until 16 January to catch the beautiful The Soft Library exhibition from textile artist Cat Rabbit and artist Michelle Zuccolo’s the Encounter.

The Soft Library a fantastical library run by bears, or ‘libearians’, many of whom are famous literary characters. Lovingly made by the artist in felt and fabric, the library houses books, portraits, animations and a special giant ‘storytime’ bear who invites visitors to sit and enjoy an audio story.

The encounter brings together paintings and drawings by Michelle Zuccolo focusing largely on portraits and still life subjects. The exhibition reveals her endless fascination with the still life genre and an almost forensic approach to portraiture.
