New partner appointments were made across KPMG’s Australian offices and covering all areas of the firm.
KPMG Australia CEO, Andrew Yates, said the breadth and depth of the new partner cohort reflected the firm’s commitment to attracting and retaining diverse senior talent.
“I am delighted to welcome a record number of new partners to the firm this year. Their passion and drive were integral to delivering client and community success. Pleasingly, 75 of these were internal promotions, reaffirming our commitment to investing in the long-term futures of our people to help drive sustainable growth for KPMG. A further 42 were lateral appointments, and four joined thorough acquisitions which further bolstered the firm’s capabilities.”
“A large proportion of these appointments were made in technology roles, reflecting demand across the Australian business community, including our own firm, for digital transformation solutions.”
Of the total partner appointments, 43 percent are female. Andrew commented: “We have actively been working to build a more gender and culturally balanced pipeline of future leaders. Having an equal representation of gender on my leadership team allows me to experience first-hand how diversity truly brings different perspectives and ultimately leads to better decision making.”
- The firm’s recently established specialist Infrastructure, Assets & Places (Infrastructure, Assets & Places) division added 14 new partners to help deliver infrastructure solutions for Australia.
- Key appointments were made across KPMG’s Management Consulting (Management Consulting) division with 34 new partners joining, including 12 in the Technology Group who will work closely with KPMG alliance partners in the technology sector to deliver digital solutions.
- During the year, 25 new partners joined the Audit, Assurance, Risk Consulting (AARC) division. Major areas of investment in this area included Audit, Superannuation, CFO Advisory, Forensic, and Remediation and Risk Management.
- The firm’s mid-market business, KPMG Enterprise, added 23 new partners, including 10 appointments to its advisory practice primarily helping deliver technology solutions. A further 9 partners joined the Tax, Transactions & Accounting (TTA) business unit.
- KPMG’s Deals, Tax and Legal (DTL) division gained 20 new partners. Supporting strong growth within the division, appointments were made across Restructuring Services, Mergers & Acquisition, Debt Advisory, and Tax.
- KPMG also invested in the firm’s internal capabilities with 5 partner appointments in the Business Services team across areas such as including Corporate Affairs and Risk Management.
- The firm continued to expand its national reach with new partners in every state and territory, including the opening of new offices in Newcastle, Townsville, and Geelon
“Despite challenging economic conditions, new COVID variants, lockdowns and geopolitical uncertainty, we have grown our business over the last 12 months by supporting our clients to navigate difficult conditions and pursue unprecedented opportunities. We thank our new partners, and all of our people for their tremendous commitment and great work,” Andrew Yates added.
