must be better supported
health care needs not being met under Liberals
Labor is committed to working with
industry to ensure that the Tasmanian workforce has the skills to deliver the
highest quality health care.
Labor’s Wellbeing, Care and Community
Development Industry Advisory Council (IAC) was held today in Hobart.
Shadow Health Minister Sarah Lovell said
today’s IAC was welcomed by industry leaders across various health and
community development sectors.
“Labor is actively engaging with health
and community development professionals and what we are hearing is that
Tasmania needs greater investment in preventative health,” Ms Lovell said.
“Labor recognises we need a far stronger
focus on prevention and wellbeing – but Tasmania’s entire healthcare workforce
must be better supported.
“Keeping people well and out of hospital
will not only deliver benefits to individuals but the entire health system.
“If we are smart now, we can make giant
strides when it comes to improving health outcomes for future generations.
“Labor is committed to working with industry to help build policies that keep people out of hospital and reduce pressures on the acute system.”
