While Labor continues to talk Tasmania down and erode investor confidence, the Rockliff Liberal Government is getting on with building the State’s renewable energy future.
Minister for Energy and Renewables, Nick Duigan, slammed the Opposition’s campaign of misinformation around the rollout of the North- West Transmission Development.
“There is no stronger support for renewables in the state than the Rockliff Liberal Government,” Minister Duigan said
“Along with ensuring the vital Marinus Link is developed on Tasmania’s terms, we are ensuring the associated transmission network is rolled out in a timely, responsible and affordable manner.
“In line with Marinus now being delivered in two stages, so too the NWTD will be built according to that timetable.
“We are aware significant wind farm projects are likely to require some of that infrastructure being delivered ahead of that schedule, and that’s exactly what we are planning.
“The government is working with proponents to ensure their future needs are factored into that planning so they can make investment decisions with confidence.
“What Tasmania doesn’t need is an irresponsible opposition continually attempting to undermine that confidence.
“I say this to all those working to deliver the renewable energy this state needs: you have our support, and we will back you.”
“What needs to be built, will be built,” Minister Duigan said.
