Michael Ferguson,Minister for State Growth
Labor has got it wrong again and should withdraw their stunt.
This time they have confused grants from the Small Business portfolio with Business Support Loans Scheme in my portfolio.
In my role as State Growth Minister, it is entirely proper to speak with government loan recipients, as the loan program is administered within my State Growth responsibilities. Some loan recipients would have been grant applicants, including unsuccessful ones.
I have spoken in person to successful loan applicants in all regions and will continue to do so as the loan applications continue to be assessed by my Department.
Despite Labor getting their claim wrong this morning, I will not take a backward step in staying closely involved with the business community. Especially given the popularity of our grant and loan programs with our 38,000 businesses across the state.
Clearly Labor still has nothing substantial to offer other than to throw rocks at a business-saving support package.
