Council is continuing to monitor the situation at Lake Conjola with a further 56mm of rainfall overnight.
It is noted that most of rain occurred along the coastal fringe and not in the catchment. The Lake has increased a total of 5 cm and levels sit at 0.89 (m AHD). No further significant rainfall is expected from today.
Crews and machinery remain on standby and the situation is being closely watched. Council staff have been on site yesterday and today.
Council has also been closely monitoring Burrill Lake, Lake Tabourie and Shoalhaven Heads over this period. There are concerns around the Burrill Lake area given that this Lake is currently open to the ocean.
Burrill Lake has experienced a significant spike last night with water levels reaching 1.15m AHD. This was due to the large ocean swell causing water to flow into the lake given the entrance of this Lake is currently open. Council staff are also inspecting the situation in Burrill Lake this morning.
