Land release step closer

NT Government

Greater Darwin’s next residential land release is a step closer.

The Holtze Land Release has been identified as the next urban residential development for Greater Darwin and will form part of an integrated wider urban development footprint known as Greater Holtze.

Registrations are now invited from proponents interested in the opportunity to develop an urban, entry level residential subdivision on Crown land via a single stage Request for Proposals (RFP) process.

This will ensure that the development of the land and supporting infrastructure will be in place so that first land titles can be issued in late 2024.

The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics intends to host an industry briefing on 30 November 2022 to introduce the project to proponents and take questions.

Proponents can register interest in submitting an RFP response to Holtze Land Release from 7am Wednesday 23 November via .

The RFP period will commence from 2 December 2022 at which time DIPL will release RFP documentation to pre-registered proponents.

Submissions close 10 March 2023 at 2pm ACST.

The RFP intends for a Crown lease term to be awarded to any successful proponent by mid-2023, with the issue of first land titles expected in late 2024.

Quotes from the Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Eva Lawler:

“We’re planning for an increase in population to 300,000 people in the Territory by 2040, and we all know that there is already pressure on the housing market.

“The Holtze Land Release of 46 ha will have more than 500 residential lots of varied sizes as well as Community Purpose land.

“This Request for Proposals aligns with the Greater Holtze Area Plan that is currently open for consultation. I encourage everyone interested in land release around Greater Darwin to view the plan and submit any comments via the Have Your Say website.”
