- Land use purpose amended for Pringle Village precinct
- Change is first step in providing extended health services to support aged care, child, youth and disability needs in Kalgoorlie-Boulder
The McGowan Government has amended the land use purpose for the Pringle Village precinct in Kalgoorlie-Boulder to allow for a wider range of community health services to be delivered from the site.
The 17.6-hectare reserve was initially held under a management order by Goldfields Masonic ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s Inc. for the purpose of ‘Aged Care Facility’. The amended land use purpose now includes ‘Health and Allied Services’, to allow for future health services to be co-located on the reserve, subject to planning approval.
Local not-for-profit child health services provider Full Circle Therapies Inc is proposing to sub-lease a portion of the reserve to expand its own operations and support the delivery of a range of common use facilities and allied health services for both seniors and children in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder area.
The provider will now work with Goldfields Masonic ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s and the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder to progress a formal proposal for the Pringle Village land.
As stated by Lands Minister John Carey:
“The amended land use purpose complements our Government’s commitment to utilise our land assets to drive positive outcomes for the Kalgoorlie-Goldfields community.
“The new facilities and services will be part of Pringle Village’s staged development to provide extra aged care accommodation and central facilities.
“Full Circle Therapies already successfully operates a Paediatric Allied Health Therapy centre in the area and this long-term proposal will enhance future aged care services at Pringle Village with a range of complementary child and youth health services.”
As stated by Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:
“This land use change is a positive first step towards a fit-for-purpose health hub that will provide multi-purpose common use facilities and key ancillary services for patients in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region.
“The State Government has previously committed $2.8 million towards Full Circle Therapies’ plans to build a new multi-purpose health services facility in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.”
As stated by Seniors and Ageing Minister Don Punch:
“This change will help future-proof the area to accommodate a holistic range of additional health services relating to aged care, child, youth and disability needs.
“Pringle Village is already a great example of Government, private and community sectors working together to provide important services for the region’s seniors residents.”
As stated by Kalgoorlie MLA Ali Kent:
“As the local member, I welcome the updated land use purpose over the Pringle Village precinct, as it will create a wide-range of benefits.
“I was approached by both Pringle Village and Full Circle to see if a partnership between these two important sectors could be reached, and I was happy to advocate to Ministers to gain their support.
“Seniors are the fastest growing demographic in Kalgoorlie-Boulder so it makes good economic sense to consolidate plans for their ongoing health and social needs to benefit others in the community who need access to similar services.”
