Police are issuing a reminder to shoppers and motorists to please be patient and drive carefully when doing your last minute Christmas Shopping today.
Prime real estate at this time of year is the shopping centre car-park, but many motorists are causing crashes by not paying attention when driving, disobeying shopping centre speed limits and reversing without care from car-parks.
Christmas is a busy time of the year for everyone and a car-park bingle only causes more worry at this time of year.
If you are attending a major shopping centre like Marion or Tea Tree Plaza – be prepared for heavy traffic around the car-parks. Be patient when finding a park and look elsewhere in surrounding streets, it’s often quicker to walk a few extra metres than try for the ‘perfect park’ near the front door. Be aware of cars reversing from car spaces and don’t use your mobile phone when driving.
When parking your car – keep shopping parcels and valuables out of view, plenty of thieves don’t use the shops!
Above all patience is the key at this time of the year. Don’t get frustrated and annoyed when driving and survive the Christmas shopping rush.
