Hiroshima, Japan – The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) highlights the impact of training women, youth and professionals in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Sahel region with practical IT skills, including AI and app development. Through inclusive digital skills training run by the /, young participants gain the knowledge and tools to turn their dreams into reality and foster social and economic prosperity for all.

Hosna, a 20-year-old Afghan alumna of 2021 by UNITAR . Her experience with the online UNITAR programme is a good example showing that self-study is key to women’s empowerment in Afghanistan. She is working outside Afghanistan on an online platform providing opportunities for women in Afghanistan to learn computer programming and English. She wishes for the people of Afghanistan to keep their hopes and not lose them.
