Campaspe Shire Council was delighted to host delegates from a range of councils in two events last week in Echuca.

The Local Government Professionals (LG Pro) CEO and Director Forum was held on 13 July and Rural Councils Victoria (RCV) hosted their annual Forum on 14 July.

The LG Pro Forum saw a range of CEO’s and Director’s from across Victoria gather in Echuca for an afternoon of guest speakers and networking opportunities.

Campaspe Shire Chief Executive Officer, Pauline Gordon said “it was wonderful to see so many Local Government executives gather in Echuca for the conference.

“We had a big week, with two Local Government conferences back-to-back. It was great to see so many delegates in Echuca and I’m glad we were able to facilitate these conversations in Campaspe and encourage them to spend into our economy,” Ms Gordon added.

On Friday, RCV hosted their annual forum, with the theme ‘doing things differently’ to maximise the benefits and offerings councils can provide to their communities.

The annual forum is an opportunity for Mayors, Councillors, Executives and staff to hear from distinguished guest speakers and network with other councils.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Rob Amos said it was a privilege to host the RCV Forum for 2023 and many executives from other municipalities in Campaspe.

“This year’s forum guests heard from Minister Melissa Horne, CEO of Regional Australia Institute, Liz Ritchie and Co-founders of the Global Leadership Foundation, Malcolm Lazenby and Gayle Hardie, amongst other great guest speakers.

“I also had the opportunity to take a group of delegates for a tour of the port precinct in Echuca with CEO of Campaspe Port Enterprise Mark Francis, to discuss how the 2022 floods effected the Shire and the steps we’re taking in recovery.

“It was a great two days for delegates in Echuca and I am very proud that we were able to put the region on display and host visitors from a range of municipalities,” Mr Amos added.
