- $6 million performing arts centre officially opens at Dianella Secondary College
- New facility offers school community a state-of-the-art creative space

The Cook Government has delivered a new $6 million performing arts centre for the Dianella Secondary College school community.
The $6 million Dandjoo Performing Arts Centre was funded as part of the WA Recovery Plan and includes a 254-seat theatre auditorium and stage, green rooms, foyer, amenities, study areas and storage.
The project also included the conversion and refurbishment of the existing school drama room into a dance studio.
The new facilities were designed by Parry and Rosenthal Architects and built by EMCO Building (Merym Pty Ltd).
The Dandjoo Performing Arts Centre allows the school to provide engaging courses and practical learning opportunities for all students in Years 7 to 12. It also offers the college community a space to meet and come together, with the name Dandjoo meaning “gathering together”.
Since 2017, the WA Labor Government has invested more than $4.4 billion into building and upgrading schools across Western Australia.
As stated by Education Minister Dr Tony Buti:
“We want WA students to be learning in the best facilities.
“Not only can the space be used for learning and performances, but it can also be used by the wider school community for events, meetings, and presentations.
“Our Government is working very hard to build and upgrade schools across our State, and I am very pleased we could deliver this for Dianella students and their families.”
As stated by Morley MLA Amber-Jade Sanderson:
“The impressive state-of-the-art facilities have been welcomed by our local community.
“Upgrades and significant investment into new school facilities like these mean our students and the broader communities needs will continue to be supported in years to come.”
